Amir Arami grew up struggling with dyslexia. After overcoming his learning disability, he was in a severe motor vehicle accident as a high school student. He spent many years relearning to read, write, speak, and walk, by enduring physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, biofeedback, and several surgical procedures. Following his recovery, he earned his undergraduate degree in psychology and graduate degree in special education, with the goal of focusing on Autism and Inclusion.

Amir is passionate about supporting his students and advocating for their Special Education services, accommodations, and supports. Verbal AUTISM was created because he saw the lack of Autism Specific communication apps. With the existing apps being as much as $300 and not meeting student needs, he wanted to create something that was affordable and accessible to the low-income families in his community.
