Dr. Robin Brewer is an Associate Professor Emeritus from the School of Special Education at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado. Dr. Brewer’s emphasis was teaching students with Autism/Significant Support Needs. She taught for 19 years at UNC and served as the Interim Director of Special Education during the 2018-19 academic year. While at UNC she started the Autism Certificate Program preparing education professionals to work with students with Autism. In the fall of 2016, Dr. Brewer was instrumental in starting the GOAL program admitting students with Developmental Disabilities to UNC for a 4-year college experience. Prior to teaching at UNC, Dr. Brewer served as a Principle Consultant at the Colorado Department of Education where she started the Autism Task Force. Working with the Task Force, guidelines for providing services to students with Autism in Colorado were implemented throughout the state. Dr. Brewer also taught special and general education classes in the public schools for 8 years in Oklahoma and Colorado focusing on students with significant support needs & Autism. She currently works part-time as an Instructional Coach for the Colorado Department of Education focusing on improving the services for students with significant support needs. She is a member of the US Autism Association Advisory Board.
