Kara Darling

After finishing her degree in Medical Anthropology, Kara Darling studied Midwifery and worked in maternal/child health as a Licensed Midwife for almost 15 years including running her own independent birth center, certifying in medical interpretation and translation, and providing prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Faced with complex medical issues in her own family, Kara took a sabbatical from midwifery that turned into a second career in healthcare administration for clinics specializing in care for both children and adults with complex medical conditions including the medical co-morbidities to Autism Spectrum Disorder. ASD is a particular area of interest for Kara, as she is also a parent of a child diagnosed with Autism and multiple medical co-morbidities. She has been a speaker on the medical co-morbidities to Autism for over ten years for organizations like PGR (Profoundly Gifted Retreat), SENG (Social Emotional Needs of the Gifted), MAGE (Massachusetts Association for Gifted Education), and OASN (Outreach Alliance Supporting Neurodevelopment). The clinics she administers specialize in diagnostics and treatment prioritization for people diagnosed with Autism.
