Akhil Lad

Akhil Lad, a nonspeaker neurodiverse adult, is an inspiration. He was diagnosed at 18 months with AUTISM with not much hope, and in spite of all the challenges he is taking an Associate Science Degree with Rowan College of South Jersey. He types for talking though his meaningful language is emerging along with his functional skills. While studying he is learning independent living skills as well as taking job readiness skills training. In March 2017 Akhil participated in an Autism Savant study with Dr. Daine Powell, Neuroscientist, which excited Dr. Deepak Chopra to meet him and said, "Akhil is a Genius." He has an interest in Plant Medicine, he is extremely aware of his inner world and often talks about Mind and Body. He enjoys Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics and has an interest in Robotics. A boy with clear ideas and a lot of aspirations. Also, Akhil is an inspiration behind the Akhil Autism Foundation, which was started by his parents Mahesh and Manisha Lad.
