Akhil’s Journey

In the first of this 2-part series, Manisha Lad shares her own story as it evolved alongside that of her son, from his early diagnosis with classic autism at the age of 18 months to his current transition where, at the age of 20, he is now successfully attending college as a primarily non-vocal student. With insights into behavior therapy, biomedical interventions, body awareness training, and various methods for communication and demonstrating academic learning, Manisha's story gives insight and hope to all who are struggling with some of the most disabling aspects of autism spectrum disorder.
