Amy Kriewaldt
Amy Kriewaldt is a writer, blogger, podcaster, musician, and autistic activist. She homeschools her three autistic children, who all present with different communication needs. A passionate defender of the right to communicate, Amy campaigns heavily for AAC usage in education. Her mission is to raise the next generation of activists to have the strongest voices possible and ensure their voices are respected. She is currently authoring a memoir about her childhood, traveling in the 1980s around the United States in a motorhome to perform in piano competitions. Amy’s essay collection, Gestures of Good Faith, is being released in Spring 2024. Her main research interests are body language, nonspeaking communication, the psychological impact of behaviorism, and Native American literature. She serves on the Northwest Augmentative Communication Society board as their social media coordinator and is an active volunteer for the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint.
